Petrol Prices UK

Over the past two weeks, petrol prices in the NW of England have risen from 99.9p a litre, to 102.9p for every litre, and diesel has risen from 99.9p per litre to 106.9p per litre. These are record heights for fuel prices in the area, are are an obsenity in comparison to most other countries.

The money that you pay for petrol is split in the following way, for examle, if you pay 90p for one litre of petrol, you are paying-

  • Duty -47.1p
  • Product -23.2p
  • VAT -13.4p
  • Retail/Delivery -6.3p

Two years ago I was paying £30 for a full tank of petrol, and nowadays I pay more than £40 a time, and all that can be expected in the future is a further increase…
